John was a driving force for his son’s pursuit of art --- he assured that Brian got an opportunity to interview and to attend The Corcoran School of Art (it has since been renamed The Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at GW). “My dad got me the interview,” Young said. “He wanted me to get the opportunity that he missed when John was a student. John did not get the chance to pursue his dreams. He did not want that situation for me.”...
Collage series comes out of a love for these Influencers before influencer people who drove the culture in our communities with their craft from music to acting, like Nina // Aretha // Fela // Lauren // Prince // Biggie // Cicely // Miles.
My technique for my collages is research and passion for the subject matter passion

1. piece a Self Portrait,
2. Hand-cut film to create an African pattern,
3. Wood carving of a still life of a teapot & chair.
4. My first sculpture piece of a
Metal Eagle.
5. I created a second piece Phoenix that was interlaced rising from the ashes. I was chosen as 1 of 9 students to create a piece from the burnt remains of the Filene Center The Center was to hold a Ball for the event but canceled the Ball. I could have become a sculptor that evening.





Won First Place Awards for DC area local Black Owned Newspaper and various other awards during my design career.
